2003
Rhode Island International Film Festival
August 5-10, 2003
We've
just returned from this, our first festival with DEAD SEXY.
Old friend and filmmaker Ilo Orleans was there with a great
film of his own called CLICK and had this to say about festivals:
"There
are really three kinds of festivals. Business festivals, audience
festivals and filmmaker festivals."
Rhode
Island truly is a filmmakers' festival. We met some incredibly
nice people, some really talented filmmakers and a great time
was had by all. Any filmmaker or film buff looking for a great
festival and group of people should put the RIIFF at the top
of their list.
We
also had the great pleasure of working with the general manager
of Pulse, Mike Furtado. Citysearch.com calls Mike's establishment
"the hottest dance club in Providence," and we whole-heartedly
agree. Mike not only promoted our film even before we arrived
in town by passing out t-shirts, baseball caps, badges and
screening cards, but he hosted an incredible DEAD SEXY premiere
party complete with DVD giveaways of the film, an incredible
drag show (we wish we knew your name, sister, 'cause you were
HOT!) and a filmmaker's VIP area. It was a great night and
we highly recommend Pulse to anyone visiting the Providence
area!
